Tansey-leaved Evening Primrose “Camassonia tanacetifolia” Evening Primrose Family (Onagraceae) Perennial, plant prostrate, leaves deeply lobed, flowers yellow and without stems, spent flowers take on a red hue.  Blooms in areas that are wet in the spring East of the Cascades.

Matted Cryptantha “Cryptantha circumscissa” Borage Family (Boraginaceae).   Annual, Plant less than 1″ tall in little mats 2-3″ in diameter.  Tiny white flowers less than 1/8″ in diameter.  This little plant is easily overlooked.  Blooms in early spring-mid summer in sandy dry soils in S.E. Or and Central Wa.

Davidson’s Penstemon “Penstemon davidsonii var. praeteritus”  Snapdragon Family (Scrophulariaceae).  Perennial, Plant 3-6″  tall, evergreen leaves small oval and leathery, blue-violet flowers 1-2″ long.  Blooms in midsummer in rocky outcrops in S.E. Oregon.
