Goat’s Beard “Aruncus dioicus”  Rose Family (Rosaceae).  Perennial, plant 2-7′ tall with small white flowers in plume like panicles up to 20″ long.  The male and female flowers are usually found on different plants.  Blooms in moist woods in early summer in Western OR & WA.  Photo:  Mt. Common Sunflower “Helianthus annus” Sunflower Family (Asteraceae) Annual, Plant 3-10′ tall, flower heads 3-8″ in diameter, 15 or more yellow ray flowers surrounding a reddish button of disk flowers.
