Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

The 762 acre Nisqually Wildlife Refuge was created in 2009 and it reclaims the estuary formed by the Nisqually River.  The boardwalk is a mile long and when the tide is in, it is surrounded by water.  There are some bird blinds along the way for viewing wildlife.  This a pleasant walk and a great opportunity to view nature up close and personal. There is a $3.00 fee and a very tempting book store.  Photo:  Near Olympia, WA 9/06/2012
